Simplicity Esports-operated Brazilian esports organization Flamengo Esports has finished its one-season deal with B4 for a Free Fire team, but is keeping in the first division of the Brazilian game’s professional league through a new partnership signed with TRT Gaming.
Through the deal, Simplicity has sublicensed the Flamengo brand to the new partner. Financial details were not disclosed.
TRT Gaming will now be the manager of the Flamengo Esports Free Fire team until 2023, when the licensing of the soccer club Flamengo brand by Simplicity expires. The team, which will be named only Flamengo Esports in contrast to the previous deal which generated the name Flamengo B4, will have all its costs covered by TRT.
The deal was negotiated by the entertainment holding company The Hub and the agency Red Button, which specializes in career management and optimization of channels on YouTube and also provides talent for Flamengo’s influencers team.
B4 will continue to compete in the Brazilian Free Fire League under its own banner. Free Fire is currently one of the most popular games in Brazil, having a huge fanbase due to its accessibility and the popularity of its players and content creators.
